Chaos Cup Final vs The Pink Horrors

I played against my friend Darren in tonight's "Chaos Cup" final - both our teams comprising of fairly equal and meaty players with a decent selection of skills and sheer muscle.  Darren won last year's CBBBL league with a Wood Elf team but he opted for Chaos this year so it could give him a chance to stretch his artistic talents - he's the best miniature painter at the Bunker by far.  It was because he was making a Chaos team that I and two others decided to play them as well.  So it's all his fault really...

His Pink Horrors won the kick and started thumping their way down the field, his beastmen caging the ball among themselves.  Thankfully for me, they failed to do much damage and I was able to get a blitz onto the ball carrier and break the ball free of his loose cage and get hold of the ball.  I scored on that last turn of the half.

In the second half, Darren kicked to me and got a blitz - not a great start.  He sent his minotaur forward but thankfully he didn't do any damage.  I got the ball up the field but had stupidly left my ball carrier open.  Darren blitzed him and the ball neatly scattered into the waiting arms of one of his beastmen who danced down the field and threw it neatly to a team-mate.  Before I knew it he'd equalised and we had four turns left of the game.

Receiving the ball again, I aimed my players away from his minotaur and tried to maximise my blocking and blitzes.  It seemed to work as I took out a few of his players and his reduced numbers weren't able to stop my team pushing down the field.  I scored again in my last turn although I had to go for it to do so, failing the first attempt which caused the heart to race - thankfully I had a spare re-roll left. It finished a 2-1 win to me.

It was a close game and very tactical - I couldn't have wished for a better game or a better opponent to finish my season with.  So - that's it for Khorne's Killers.  They got in twelve games and won nine of them which is a pretty good ratio for a Chaos team in a fairly bashy league.

The next season of the CBBBL league will take place next year and I've been challenged to try my hand at Vampires.  I suspect they're going be worse than my Halflings are so it should be interesting,  See you next year sports fans...

The league commissioner made the Chaos Cup play-off draw recently and I was scheduled against the Lashor Devastation.  This team was, until very recently, coached by my mate Rid but he didn't want to take part in the play-offs - or indeed use his Chaos team ever again...  He sold the team to another Chelmsford Bunker member - who kindly stepped up and said he'd be happy to use them in the play-offs.  So, although the team was the same, the new team coach was Rich pictured above but using the same roster that Rid finished the league with.

Rich is plagued by bad dice rolls - he has a triple-skull tattoo in celebration of his infamous luck.  It happened again in our game where things just didn't go right for him.  Initially we were trading blows, each coach trying sending their minotaur to blitz their counterpart and just knocking each other about.  I'd received the ball on a touchback and managed to finally break out and score in turn 6 and I managed to hold Rich back from scoring in return in his last couple of turns.  My dice rolls were proving better than Rich's as I had managed to injure a couple of his players so for the second half he only had 11 players to use whilst I still have 15 available.

Kicking to Rich, the ball landed right up against the line of scrimmage and his Sure Hands beastman managed to fail to pick it up (multiple times over the game in fact).  I moved my players into the area surrounding it and before too long I blitzed the ball carrier, picked up the ball and headed for the end zone.  2-0 to me.  By now Rich was down to 10 men and struggling but I kept managing to knock out or stun his players.  As the game came to an end, I managed to score again to take the game to a 3-0 win for the Killers.

So - the Killers are in the final for the league's mini-Chaos Cup and I'll be taking on the Pink Horrors.  They had played the Slaves to Pleasure 1-0 at the same time I was playing against Rich so I now need to arrange the final game against the Horrors' coach.
