Game 2 vs Undead

Khorne was obviously not happy with the Killers being scheduled against the Deadland Dead Elves.  What blood could be wrung from a team  that was already dead?  The beastmen stared menacingly at the ghouls on the opposing team; they would have to suffice...

Although starting well and scoring first, the mouldering mummys took their toll on the Killers players, killing one beastman, causing another to miss the next game and forcing the team apothecary to heal a serious injury on yet another.  Even the Khornate minotaur was subjected to constant punishment, often beaten to the floor and fouled when the Undead had the chance.  There was no way the Khorne team could stop the Undead from scoring and before the game closed, they did so twice to seal the Undead victory.  The only joy that the Killers had was when one mummy was killed after striking a beastman causing both to fall to the pitch.

Khorne was pleased with the offering of skulls for his throne but his team will be forced to field three journeymen in their next game.

Final score 2 - 1 loss.

Rosters:
Killers : 1 minotaur, 10 beastmen, 4 rerolls.
Opponent : 2 mummies, 2 wights, 3 ghouls, 3 zombies, 2 skeletons, 3 rerolls

Game 1 vs Chaos

Paul - confident about winning...
Violence and bloodshed were guaranteed in this mighty clash of Chaos; the first all-Chaos clash of CBBBL V. Khorne's Killers looked edgy and nervous as they positioned themselves to kick the ball to the all-together more relaxed Slaanesh team but the all beast team got the drop on the perverts and blitzed towards where the ball would land. In a flurry of blood, fur and goat droppings, the Killers scored a touchdown in their first official turn of the game. It was not going to be Slaanesh's night...

With their god shunning them, the Slaves saw a couple of their players knocked out thanks to a Minotaur to the face and they were struggling from then on. The Killers turned them over once more before the end of the first half leaving the Slaves 2-0 down after a bout of amazing agility as a goatman dogged out of a tackle zone, picked up the ball in a tackle zone, dodged out of that tackle zone, ran up the field and passed to another beastman in a tackle zone who deftly caught the ball, dodged way from his marker and scored. Who needs rerolls when your god favours you like that? Misery and despair flooded the Slaanesh team with just six players to bring to the field for the second half.

Kicking to the Khornate team, the Slaves could put up only a minimal defence as they were swept aside by the Killers' superior numbers. The Slaves' coach was calling for his own team to be fouled after being beaten to the ground but the Khornate coach refused his requests to be spanked further and the Killers scored a third time.

With a few turns left and kicking to the Slaves, the Khorne team once again got the drop on the sluggish Slaaneshis. Blitzing their way forward, they charged up the field to wait for the ball to drop - and even though the goat under the ball didn't catch it, he fumbled it to a teammate behind him! As the game closed, the Killers scored once more to make the game 4-0. More pleasing for them was that they had caused a death on the Slaanesh team!

Blood for the Blood God!

Final score 4 - 0 win.

Rosters:

Turn 1 kick-off before placing the ball.  I got a blitz and knocked out a beastman before the game even started.

Killers ready for duty

So what's all this about then?

This is a micro-blog specifically for my Chaos team - Khorne's Killers.  I already have a blog which I use to talk about my wargaming hobby in general but I thought I'd create this blog purely for charting the progress of my new team as they play their way though a ten game season of Blood Bowl in the CBBBL - the Chelmsford Bunker Blood Bowl League.

Just to give you a bit of history, the CBBBL plays at the Chelmsford Bunker wargames club in Chelmsford, Essex in the UK.  I've run a Blood Bowl league at the club since 2006 but it's only been the last few years that we've had a formal league running at the club.  We have a lot of very experienced coaches at the club; people who attend a fair number of NAF tournaments so they know their way around a Blood Bowl pitch.  We run our own Blood Bowl tournament too - the Bunker Bowl, which is in it's third year in 2012.

You can see the website for the club here : http://www.chelmsfordbunker.co.uk and a link to the Bunker Bowl III page here : http://www.chelmsfordbunker.co.uk/?page_id=130
We also have a website for charting and recording the league using the OBBLM software - you can see that site here : http://www.cbbbl.co.uk/

This season is going to be CBBBL V and it's promising to be bloodier than ever.  For no good reason in particular, a number of us have decided to field Chaos teams this year so as well as aiming to win the league, there's a mini "Chaos Cup" bragging rights to be striven for.  I'm making it extra difficult for myself as I've decided to fore-go Chaos Warriors entirely and just stick with Beastmen and a Minotaur.  It's not quite a "theme" as such - more like a "scheme".  Oh well.  It should be fun and, as I have a Khornate team, as long as players die, whether from my own team or my opponents, it's all good in the end.

For CBBBL V, we have a play-off at the end of the 10-game season.  The top four teams will fight it out to see who wins the title of CBBBL V Champion.  I'll be happy to try and be the highest ranked Chaos team but we'll see how we get on.

My first game of the season is already planned; I'll be playing against Paul's Chaos team, the Slaves to Pleasure.  He, along with all the other Chaos teams, have chosen a rather traditional lineup of four warriors, seven beastmen and three rerolls.  It will be interesting to see how my lineup of ten beastmen, a minotaur and four rerolls will get on against them.  I'll be posting up match reports after each game and I'll try to get some photos along the way.  In the meantime, here's the obligatory team shot...
